“Rolling Hills Bed & Breakfast” is in Flatonia, Texas just half way between Houston and San Antonio, off of I-10. Our cottage is 3 1/2 miles outside of Flatonia with beautiful winding rolling hills. Founded by the Southern Pacific Railroad in 1873. Flatonia, Texas was established on April 8, 1874 and named after an early pioneer merchant F.W. Flato. The people, countryside, and buildings represent a Texas German, Bohemian and Czech heritage that began during the 19th century and remains alive today. You can log on to www.flatoniachamber.com to learn more about our area.
Exciting and adventurous day trips to San Marcus (The Outlet Mall), New Braunsfels (tubing the Guadaluipe River), San Antonio (The Alamo and Sea World), Gonzales (“Come and Get It”), Seguin (Home of “True Women”), Luling (Watermelon Fest), and of course Shiner (German Brewery), all at a convenient distance from our cottage so you can come back and relax after a full day of exploring. Don’t forget to visit the painted churches.
Come and experience Spring with our hillsides covered in bluebonnets and wildflowers. In the fall, temperatures are cool and so welcoming, that you’ll want to just sit on the front porch swing waiting for nightfall and that first lucky star to make your special wish.
